The Natural Resources and Local Economy Chair in association with the BETA at the University of Lorraine, is organising a two-day conference at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Administration in Metz, bringing together researchers to present and discuss theoretical and empirical work on the economics of natural resources. This conference will also welcome specialists to round tables to share their perspectives on contemporary applied issues.
All contributions, both theoretical and empirical, in economics applied to environmental or energy issues are welcome. Doctoral students are also encouraged to submit a contribution. Each accepted paper will be discussed by a conference participant to facilitate high-quality exchanges.
The keynote speaker for the 2026 edition is Jean Beuve, Professor of Economics at the University of Lille and Scientific Adviser to the Economic Analysis Council

Thursday 4 June 2026:
- Morning: Lectures and round-table discussions
- Afternoon: Keynote Lecture; plenary session and parallel sessions for paper presentations
- Evening: Gala dinner
