Edith Kouakou will present her paper entitled: “Subsidized Crop Insurance and Farm Economic Exposure to Weather Extremes”.
Abstract: This study examines the income and cost response to extreme weather shocks conditional on crop insurance premium subsidies as an indicator for the resilience of agricultural production to extreme weather. We use data from the French Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) combined with Copernicus temperature and precipitations data resulting in 81777 observations from 10450 farm across the years 2010 to 2023.
Her paper will be commented by Serge Garcia (Research Director, INRAE, BETA) and Rémi Girard (PhD student, BETA, UL).
