The book “Des contrats dans les filières agricoles, forêt-bois et halieutiques. Dialogue entre le droit, l’économie et la sociologie”, coordinated by Marie-Benoit Magrini, Raphaèle-Jeanne Aubin-Brouté, Zohra Bouamra-Mechemache, Gérard Marty and Annick Vignes, has just been published by Quae.

Abstract: Contractualization as a solution to the issues of competitiveness, price and value distribution in commodity chains is the subject of recurrent debate. This book examines the uses and impact of contracts in the organization of trade in agricultural, forestry and fisheries goods in France. After presenting essential legal, economic and sociological concepts on contracts, it analyzes their diversity in these sectors.

In addition to coordinating the book, BETA associate Gérard Marty co-wrote chapter 3. A sociological approach to contract analysis (with Thomas Debril). Gérard Marty is also co-author, with Ahmed Barkaoui (BETA) and Arnaud Dragicevic, of chapter 8. Timber supply contracts from French public forests: a mechanism at the service of the industry?
