Article “Pollution de l’air : les Français prêts à agir, mais réticents à payer…” by Caroline Orset (AgroParisTech, Paris-Saclay University) and Marco Monnier (BETA, University of Strasbourg) published on September 8, 2025, on The Conversation.

Abstract: Are the French ready to support and finance an ambitious policy to reduce pollution? To find out, economists have a key indicator: the statistical value of life. This is obviously not intended to put a price on human life, but to measure how much a population is willing to invest to reduce, even slightly, the risk of death due to air pollution.
