Postdoctoral Position in Economics (12 months)

03 September 2026

The University of Strasbourg is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher in economics as part of the project “A Historical Analysis of the Contributions of Theoretical and Computational Social Choice to Ecological Economics”, conducted within BETA.

This project aims to foster a dialogue between normative economics, particularly theoretical and computational social choice, and ecological economics. It seeks to explore the links between methods used in social choice theory and computational social choice to restrict the domain of subjective preferences, on the one hand, and approaches in ecological economics that aim to limit the influence of subjective preferences in order to prioritize the satisfaction of needs considered fundamental, on the other.

The position is open to candidates who obtained a PhD in Economics within the last two to three years. Proficiency in French is not required.

Application deadline: 10 October 2026
