Economist Vincent Vicard (Deputy Director of the Center for Prospective Studies and International Information (CEPII) – Author of the book Faut-il réindustrialiser la France ? PUF, 2024) will be the guest speaker at the next BETA Grand Conference, which will take place on October 13, 2025, at the Faculté de Droit, Sciences économiques et Gestion in Nancy.
He will speak on the topic “What industrial policy for France?”
Abstract: Relocalization, made in France, economic sovereignty… Behind these terms lies an ambition that everyone seems to have agreed on in recent years: the need to reindustrialize France. However, it is difficult to see the effects of this in the actual figures. In the era of Trump, trade conflicts, and the necessary ecological transition, it is time to rethink industrial policy and question its objectives: reindustrialize, but to what end?
