The CHPE research group, thanks to Sina Badiei and Herrade Igersheim, organise a study day on the ecological crisis, the question of needs, ‘Universal Basis Income’ and ‘Universal Basic Services’ on Tuesday 26 November 2024 at the Faculté des sciences économiques et de gestion (FSEG) in Strasbourg.
The programme for the day includes:
- 9.30-09.55 am: Ecological Crisis, Basis Needs and Universal Basic Services: Introduction to the Writings of Gough, Coote and Basic Needs Studies, by Sina Badiei (University of Strasbourg, BETA)
- 09.55-10.55 am: From Needs to Sufficiency: Sustainable Welfare and Eco-Social Policies, by Ian Gough (LSE)
- 10.55-11.15 am: Coffee break
- 11.15-12.15 am: Universal Basic Services: Meeting Needs within Planetary Boundaries, by Anna Coote (UNICEF & New Economics Foundation)
- 12.15-1.15 pm: Lunch break
