Panagiotis Liargovas (Peloponnese University) visiting

With great pleasure, BETA welcomes Panagiotis LIARGOVAS as an ITI MAKErS Fellow from September 1 to October 31, 2022 at BETA (office A 128, 1st floor).

Panagiotis Liargovas is Professor of Economics at the University of the Peloponnese in Greece & Scientific Director of the Greek Government’s Center for Economic Planning and Research.

A specialist in European integration and policies, and recipient of a Jean Monnet Chair, Panagiotis holds a B.A. from the University of Athens and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Clark University, Worcester MA. He has been a Fulbright Scholar, a Bakalas Foundation Scholar, a Teaching Assistant (Clark University) and a European Commission Intern (Brussels). He has taught at numerous universities, including Clark University, the University of Bologna and the Universities of Athens, Patras and Crete.

His research program is highly interdisciplinary, combining economics, banking and finance, social issues and management, and focuses mainly on two regions: The European Union and Southeast Europe (including Greece).
