Samuel Ferey, Director of the CELEST cross-disciplinary research and expertise center

Created as part of the Lorraine Excellence Initiative (formerly Lorraine Université d’Excellence), CELEST is a CRET (Centre de recherche et d’expertise transversal) that brings together over 80 researchers in the human and social sciences to analyze major contemporary transformations. This 10-year research program combines disciplines and perspectives to shed light on the transitions at work in our societies.

BETA is one of fifteen research centers in Lorraine represented in the CELEST project. Its current scientific director is Samuel Ferey, professor of economics and researcher at BETA. In an interview with Factuel, he looks back at the origins and aims of the program.
