Abstract: “When childcare arrangements become complicated, it is always women’s careers that bear the brunt. Mathieu Lefebvre, professor of economics at the University of Strasbourg and researcher at BETA, uses European data to analyse the role of formal and informal childcare arrangements in women’s employment and employability. Despite the diversity of existing solutions, it is women who adjust their work when childcare becomes more difficult to organise.”
