Author of Wikipedia, ou imaginez un monde (Rue d’Ulm, Essai, 2024), Jérôme Hergueux highlights the importance of the online encyclopedia Wikipedia for digital democracy. Wikipedia is the best-known example of online civil society expression, operating on a collaborative, rights-free principle. A model of citizen expression that is, in fact, omnipresent in the world of the Internet, and which public authorities need to be aware of if they are to protect it from the mercantile excesses of the Gafams and the authoritarian excesses of anti-democratic regimes.
