02 May 2025

BETA is delighted to welcome researcher Simone Marsilio to Strasbourg from April to June 2025.
Simone Marsilio is a postdoctoral researcher at the American University of Sharjah (UAE), surveying egalitarian attitudes using mixed methods. His project is entitled “Grievances, elite messaging, and attitudes toward non-dominant groups”.
Simone Marsilio studied political philosophy. He got a PhD in political science at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele university (Milan, Italy) testing alternative voting methods. His thesis, entitled “Changing the voting method: Voter satisfaction, status quo bias, and consequences”, was completed under the supervision of Professor Roberta Sala (Vita-Salute San Raffaele University).
His scientific interests include alternative voting methods, egalitarianism and Nudge theory. Her main ambition is to be able to apply her knowledge to a practical field. His research is now experimental. He mainly uses quantitative methods in “framed-field” experiments, online surveys and laboratory experiments.
During his stay at BETA, Simone Marsilio will be conducting a lab experiment to compare inter-gender interactions in France and the United Arab Emirates.
Would you like to meet Simone Marsilio and discuss his research with him? You can find him in room A323 of the Strasbourg Faculty of Economics and Management.
