BETA participation in European Heritage Days 2025

23 September 2025

On September 20 and 21, 2025, as part of European Heritage Days 2025 and the bicentennial of the École Forestière, the AgroParisTech campus in Nancy opened its doors to the general public, offering a unique opportunity to discover the institution’s rich heritage.

In addition to the conferences and exhibitions offered by AgroParisTech, these days allowed the public to discover the research conducted on campus and to understand its challenges and results.

BETA, represented by Marielle Brunette and Claire Montagné-Huck, offered an interactive workshop entitled “Ecosystem services and the forest at stake.”

Visitors were invited to participate in a card game illustrating the many services provided by forests (support, regulation, supply, and socio-cultural services), as well as the threats they face. The aim of the game was for players to guess these different services and threats from photos. These illustrations, accompanied by key figures on the back, served as an excellent medium for communication between the public and the two researchers and led to many fruitful discussions.

Posters showing the flow of wood within the industry, from the forest to the end consumer, complemented the workshop.
