75 years since the Schuman Declaration: where does the European economic project stand?

As the European Union celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, the foundations of the Union seem to have been put to the test this year. Do the multiple crises to which the Union is subjected strengthen the foundations of its construction, or do they call for an aggiornamento of its doctrine?
