Event details :
We are pleased to welcome to the next session of the BETA Cournot seminar organised with the support of the FSEG on Friday 12/06, at 02:00pm: :
Dorian Jullien (Centre d’économie de la Sorbonne)
who will present his paper entitled
Elements for a history of the early days of experimental and behavioural economics in France
Abstract: Experimental (lab-based) economics and behavioural economics are approaches whose historical roots lie mainly in the United States of America, and to a lesser extent in Germany. It is therefore hardly surprising that the historiography of these approaches focuses primarily on the pioneering contributions of economists based in those countries. The manner in which experimental and behavioural economics spread beyond these countries remains largely unexplored. The aim of our research project is to understand how these approaches were introduced to France. The presentation will focus on the main findings gathered through an oral history project (still ongoing) that shed light on the early stages of this process of introduction (from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s).
